Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture offers studies meeting the needs of the market, and focusing on innovative technologies (BIM, LEED). The Faculty encourages internationalism and cosmopolitan environment. The study process here is aimed at development of practical skills in construction engineering and architecture, at teamwork, which is encouraged through contemporary didactics. The works of alumni of the Faculty are celebrated landmarks in various parts of the world.
The architecture blends science and art, and it is present in all the spaces around us – our home, neighbourhood, cities we live in. The significance of architecture is more than evident.
The main skill of an architect is the ability to create safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing buildings or dwellings. At KTU, the graduates learn that a building is not only a place where people live and work but is also an important part of our surroundings that makes an impact on how we live.
Our students learn using contemporary technology and knowledge of historical, aesthetic, socio-cultural and ecological contexts. KTU graduates become the architects that can create buildings for any purpose, shape the landscape, analyse and design the spaces for the future.
Learning from internationally renowned scholars and practitioners you will analyse and design projects both from user and architects’ perspectives using structural, social, aesthetical, ecological, and economic research. In your studies, you will learn how to visualise the innovative architectural design and urban planning solutions, to generate creative ideas and implement them.
Our graduates can create individual projects and work closely within a team, to coordinate and lead projects, as well as work according to BIM methodology together with other construction participants.
You can prepare for the exam in our Drawing courses.

Civil engineering is as old as the human civilization itself. Yet, paradoxically – this field of science constantly reinvents itself; it changes, sets new trends and adapts to a contemporary world’s needs.
Probably the greatest challenge for today’s engineers is how to make the most effective use of digital tools (buildings’ information modelling, 3D printing and others) that enable the creation of the most complex structures quickly and economically, meeting the needs of society and individuals.
While studying at KTU, you will get acquainted with the main processes of design, construction, installation and operation of buildings. This is general but essential knowledge that will allow you to choose the desired specialisation in later years of study and focus more on the chosen topic: structures, technologies or building engineering systems.
BSc in Civil Engineering at KTU offers a broad spectrum of courses to prepare the graduates for the dynamic environment of the construction business.

Great architecture is a point of departure – it uses the past for inspiration and is simultaneously looking forward to improving itself. It is art and science without which the world would stop growing and developing.
By studying master’s in Architecture at KTU you will contribute to this growth by developing your ability to generate creative ideas, to conduct research, to design and execute complex tasks and solve problems.
KTU master’s programme in Architecture was developed to build your knowledge and skills in architectural design, urban and territorial planning. These studies provide competences of scientific-methodical assessment, which enable preparation of professional projects for buildings and urban complexes. These competencies are enriched by managerial skills, and this unique mix will provide you with a competitive advantage in the architecture industry. After graduation, you can follow whatever career you wish – you may work in architectural or spatial planning organisations, create your own architectural business or pursue a scientific career.
The admission for 2024 autumn intake will not be conducted for this study programme. Those with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and aspiring to obtain a Master’s degree in Architecture are admitted to the seventh semester of integral studies in Architecture.

In complex construction industry, any inaccurate step can be crucial on the path to the project implementation. The experts of construction management play a key role in the implementation of quality processes from the beginning to the end of the project. They are the coordinators ensuring smooth operation of related organisations and meeting the customer’s expectations, applying the knowledge of building information modelling (BIM) and geo-information systems (GIS).

Reuse and safeguarding of the contemporary heritage affect tens of millions of people in Europe and hundreds of millions around the world; affect the quality of life of citizens through where they live and where they develop their lives. Cities and urban environments in Europe should preserve their typology and identity and try to maintain their specific nature in comparison with other places in the world. They are realities that make Europe attractive and competitive and contribute to the well-being of its citizens.
Providing high-level qualification for future professionals and researchers focused on the safeguarding, conservation and reuse of 20th century urban and built heritage is the overarching goal of the 90 ECTS “Architectural and Urban Contemporary Heritage-ARURCOHE” Erasmus Mundus Joint Master to be jointly implemented by the Official and Associated Partners: UNIVERSITY OF THE BASQUE COUNTRY (UPV/EHU), Spain, POLITECNICO DI TORINO, Italy, KAUNAS UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, Lithuania
